And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah.

Lamech was the first bigamist mentioned in the Bible. God does not want men to marry more than one woman because God commanded for Adam to be married to Eve and not to any other woman. If God wanted for man to have more than one wife, then He would have commanded for Adam to have more than one wife.
Numerical Expositions: (4) To gain instruction, do not commit adultery. (1) The name Adah means "beautiful, ornament." Follow God in order to be adorned with beauty. (5) The name Zillah means "shade, shadow." Choose to walk in God's presence. (9) To overturn evil, choose to walk in God's presence.
