And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?
Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
- John 10:20-21 (KJV)
These reactions were the two reactions the Jews had towards Jesus after He gave them the parable of the Good Shepherd. The first group of Jews that did not believe Jesus said that he was suffering from madness because he was possessed with a devil. However, the group that believed Him stated that there was no way He could be a mad man because he was able to provide vision to the blind.
That's the key to telling whether or not a person is filled with madness. A person that is able to open up the eyes and enlighten others cannot be a mad man. However, a person that looks to blur the vision of others is a mad man.
