Numerical Expositions: Genesis 3:20

And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

-- Gen. 3:20 (KJV)

Your calling is in your name.  The name that Adam gave to his wife in this verse is Eve.  Eve means living or giver of life.   This name was given to Eve before she gave birth to her children.  This incident shows that the name was given as a precursor to her destiny.  She was called the giver of life and became the mother of all living.  The design made by God between man and woman is that the woman is the one that gives birth.  If there was no God, then women would not be able to give birth to children.

Many people walk around with no purpose because their knucklehead parents gave them a name with no meaning.

Numerical Analysis:  The numerical pattern for this verse is 3,2,5.  (3) Stay in the Spirit in order to be called by Him.  (2) To follow after God's kingdom, look to be productive.  (5) To stay in God's rest, look to be productive.

Numerical Expositions: Genesis 3:19

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken, and unto dust shalt thou return.

-- Gen. 3:19 (KJV)

Notice that this verse states that man must work before eating.  Why are so many people obese?  Too many people are overweight because they eat without working.  Work then eat.  The reward for working is food.

The second part of this verse lets us know that we all return to the dust after death.  If the Bible was not true, then nobody would be buried six feet under.

Numerical Analysis:  The numerical pattern for this verse is 3,1,4,9.  (3) To stay in the Spirit, realize that you must work before eating.  (1) Follow God until you die.  (4) To stay in God's Word, realize that He formed you from the dust of the ground.  (9) To overturn evil, realize that we all will have to return to the ground once we die.

Numerical Expositions: Genesis 3:18

Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

-- Gen. 3:18 (KJV)

As a result of the curse, thorns and thistles are brought forth when mankind tills the ground.  The meaning of this curse implies that unproductive branches will grow although plenty of work was placed in growing bumper crops.  This curse hinders the productivity of what man can do upon this earth.  This curse can be potentially devastating because all of that work could possibly produce nothing in return.  Remember to stay encouraged.

From this verse, you can use the symbolism of thorns and thistles to represent the curse in other verses throughout the Bible.  This type of research can give you further insight on how to eliminate the curse from your life.

For example, in the parable of the sower, "...the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit."  (Mark 4:7 KJV).  The curse will attempt to undermine your productivity.  However, you can maximize your productivity by taking heed to the explanation given in Mark 4:18-19 (KJV).

"And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful."

1. Stop caring about what the rest of the world cares about.
2. Do not believe that you are something that you are not solely because you have money.
3. Do not allow other desires to supersede your desire for God's Word.

Another key insight is given in the second part of this verse as the herb of the field grows despite of all of the thorns and the thistles.  Herbs are certain plants used for as flavoring for food, medicine, and perfume.  The herbs are not choked out by the thorns because the herbs provide resources that help others.  We must look to help others so that the curse will not be able to stop us.

Numerical Analysis:  The numerical pattern for this verse is 3,9,1,8.  (3) Walk in the Spirit in order to be free from the curse.  (9) To overturn evil, know what you need to eat.  (1) To stay in the anointing, know what you need to eat.  (8) To have a new beginning in God, know what you need to eat.

Numerical Expositions: Genesis 3:17

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it:  cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

-- Gen. 3:17 (KJV)

The Word of the Lord God must supersede the voices of anyone else in order to avoid the consequences.  For choosing to listen to his spouse instead of taking heed to God's command, consequences were placed upon this earth that still remain presently.

The two consequences for disobeying God's command are rather drastic in this verse.  First, the earth became cursed.  The reason why so many horrible things happen in this world is that the curse is running rampant upon this earth.  However, we can all do our part to make the earth be less cursed by hearing and doing the commands of God.

Next, the second consequence is depression.  Depression is that sinking feeling that attempts to take root within the hearts of men and women all throughout the world.  To be free from depression, then choose to do God's commands.

Numerical Analysis:  The numerical pattern for this verse is 3,8,2,1,7.  (3) To stay in the Spirit, listen when He speaks to you.  (8) To have a new beginning in God, do not allow any other voice to supersede His commands.  (2) To follow after God's kingdom, watch what you eat.  (1) To stay in the anointing, remember God's commands.  (7) To be complete, listen to what God says.

Numerical Expositions: Genesis 3:16

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

-- Gen. 3:16 (KJV)

The consequences for sin that were placed upon Eve still affect womankind until this very day.  God decrees in this verse that women will experience pain and sorrow during childbirth.  The pain during conception for women is so intense that the period right before the birth of any child is called labor.  Look at the logic from within this first consequence.  If there is no God, then women would not experience pain during childbirth.

From the spiritual perspective, there is a direct link between sorrow and conception.  To experience gains in the spiritual realm, you must realize that there will be some opposition and you must deal with some pain.

However, the second part of this verse is even more dire for women.  The final consequence is that men is given authority over women in marriage.  That means that the woman must place herself under the order of the man.  The critical lesson that must be discerned by women due to this consequence is that women must never marry a man that walks in disorder.

Numerical Analysis:  The numerical pattern for this verse is 3,7,1,6.  (3) To follow God, listen to Him when He speaks to you.  (7) Choose to be perfected by God or sorrow will multiply within your life.  (1) To follow God, realize that pain accompanies conception.  (6) To expose evil, control your desires.

Numerical Expositions: Genesis 3:15

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

-- Gen. 3:15 (KJV)

This curse that God places upon the devil is rather interesting.  A perpetual conflict is established between the serpent and the woman and between the seed of the serpent and the seed of the woman.  As proof that the conflict continues today, 61% of the people that attend church on a regular basis in Australia are women according to research done by NLCS.

The second part of the conflict is sort of encrypted as the seed of the serpent will have enmity with the seed of the woman.  What in the world is the seed of the serpent?  The seed of the serpent has been misinterpreted for many years.  Some believe that the seed of the serpent was that the devil and Eve conceived Cain.  That's wrong.  Some believe that the seed of the serpent was when the fallen angels conceived giants with women.  Both of these theories about the seed of the serpent are incorrect because the descendants of Cain and the giants were destroyed after the Flood.

As you look at the entire verse, the verbs are in the future tense.  The seed of the woman is pretty easy to decipher because the seed of the woman is Jesus Christ, who was born of a virgin.  Jesus Christ has full authority over the devil.  That part has already been figured out.  John 8:44 identifies the seed of the serpent.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

-- John 8:44 (KJV)

When you look at the entire context of the chapter, Jesus is talking about the the Pharisees that were trapped by religion.  Those influenced by religion can trip up your spiritual walk with God.  Do not allow religious people that place rituals ahead of a personal relationship with God to influence you.

Numerical Analysis:  The numerical pattern for this verse is 3,6,9,1,5.  (3) To stay in the Spirit, realize that you will have to deal with conflict.  (6) To expose evil, realize that you will have to deal with conflict.  (9) To overturn evil, realize that you have authority over the enemy.  (1) To stay in the anointing, do not allow for religion to trip you up.  (5) To stay in God's presence, do not allow for religion to trip you up.
