And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
-- Gen. 1:14 (KJV)
The command given by God in this verse is to create celestial lights that would also have the capability to display the difference between the day and the night. Those same lights would also determine signs, seasons, days, and years. These lights are the sun, the moon, and the stars.
The sun shines in the day, while the moon and the stars are illuminated at night. The sun, the moon, and the stars all display different types of signs above are atmosphere, such as eclipses and the positioning of the stars. Seasons are also determined by star patterns. Days and years are determined by the sun and the moon.
Numerical Analysis: The numerical pattern for this verse is 1,5,6,4. (1) To stay in the anointing, listen to what God says. (5) Stay in God's presence so that He will show you the difference between good and evil. (6) To expose evil, realize that God will show you signs that will help you along the way. (4) To stay in God's Word, understand that the spiritual realm also operates on a seasonal basis.
