Policy Day focuses on sharia law in Iran

International Christian Concern’s (ICC) annual Policy Day will focus on the state of Iran’s deteriorating religious freedom, including the government’s systematic attempt to abolish Christianity. ICC will outline its strategy for targeting key judicial figures in Iran’s judicial system who imprison and torture Christians by condemning them to Tehran’s Evin Prison (“The Terror Factory”).

Policy Day is an opportunity for the public to hear from and engage with leaders from Capitol Hill and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as they detail the persecution of Christians and other religious freedom violations.

Speakers will include Senator Ted Cruz of Texas; Suzanne Maloney, Deputy Director of Foreign Policy Program at the Brookings Institution; Maryam and Marziyeh, victims of persecution in Iran; Jeff King, President of ICC; and Dr. Mike Ansari, President of Iran Alive. ICC has also invited Commissioner Tony Perkins of the United States Commission on International Religious freedom as well as other members of Congress, policy experts, NGO leaders, and victims of persecution. Please visit the event page for more information.

Policy Day will also include a distinguished panel to discuss ongoing human rights issues and potential solutions from varied perspectives. ICC welcomes the participation of all interested parties and looks forward to hosting a great event.

Members of the public and the media are welcome to attend.

The event will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, in the Hart Senate Office Building (120 Constitution Avenue NE, Washington, D.C. 20002) in Room 902 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

RSVPs are strongly encouraged to ensure entrance through security. They may be completed at our event page.
